After dilly-dallying off the coast all night, and strenthening to a Category 1 Hurriane, Ida made landfall this morning north of bluefields, Nicaragua. She is currently posing a major flooding threat to northeastern Nicaragua (and possibly also Honduras), dumping enough rainfall to cause flash flooding and possible deadly mudslides.

Oh, my goodness, those poor people! Mudslides are very frightening.
Never thought there was so much to talk about related to cruising. Must be because I live in cold WI. :-) Great blog! I like to see all the activity on it!
Angela - one day, you will have to take a cruise yourself, just to see what all the fuss is about!
Valerie - Hoping the news out of Nicaragua and Honduras isn't too bad... There's a beautiful cruise port on an island just off Honduras - Roatan - that I particularly hope will have faraed well.
